This is a basic outline of a Wedding Ceremony - it changes according to the requirements of the couple and can be longer or shorter

1  INTRODUCTION

Celebrant to welcome to guests, family, friends to the marriage ceremony of...........

Celebrant could say something along these lines, We who are witnessing your marriage hope that you will draw from the strength of why you are choosing to marry today, despite the ups & downs that may come & go in any relationship, your love & support for each other, and your trust & understanding of each other, will add to your contentment and your joy in living.

2.  READING / MUSIC INTERLUDE:

This could be the first reading or musical interlude

3.  MONITUM

This is a legal requirement for the Celebrant to say:

My name is, Angela Jean Downing and I am duly authorized by law to solemnize marriages according to law.

Before you are joined together in  marriage,in my presence and in the presence of these witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn & binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter. 

Marriage in Australia is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.

4.  GIVING AWAY OF BRIDE

Thank you and acknowledgement of thanks

5.  DECLARATION - BY COUPLE

 7. VOWS -  This would include legal wording that must be said at the ceremony.

 10.  SIGNING OF REGISTER, CERTIFICATE - Bridal couple & 2 Witnesses

 

11.  CONGRATULATIONS

             To the newly married couple & giving of certificates

12. RECESSIONAL

Thank you to all for joining in the ceremony and witnessing the love & joy that ......... and ......... have for one another and any special Thank you's, Good bye from the Celebrant.
